Senior Micah Martin finished in the top 10 at the event. He and Danny Smith earned the Sharpshooter badge. Cadet Sydney Thompson earned her Marksmanship badge bringing Lakeview AFJROTC’s season total to 10. “This has been a very good year for our team. Each of our shooters have shown great improvements in their scores”, said retired USAF Maj. Stacey Wiggins. M Sgt. John Thomas said, “This was a great experience for our team. They got to observe the mechanics of other shooters and to shoot on the Orion Scoring System, something they have not done until now.”
Lakeview?s success has given them the confidence that a national level appearance is possible. They plan to purchase additional equipment and improve their facilities to encourage future participation.
