Depot restoration permit tops $868,000

A building permit for $868,893 was issued to the City for restoration of the Texas and Pacific Depot on Trudeau Street according to the City Planning and Zoning February permit report issued by Director Shontrell Roque.
The permit was among 40 issued with a total application valuation of $1,622,772.
The City, Cane River Creole National Historical Park (CRCNHP) and Cane River National Heritage Area (CRNHA) are partnering to restore the depot. It will house the administrative offices and visitor center for the CRCNHP that is part of the National Park Service.
The DSW Construction contract is for 210 calendar days once the Notice to Proceed is issued.
Also related to the depot project was a permit for $166,640 issued to subcontractor Camus Electric Co. Inc.
