A service to honor the life of Mr. Douglas Rachal Sr. will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 18 at Fairview Baptist Church with Bro. Matt Endris and Sis. Suny Augustine officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitochesunder the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 17 at the funeral home.
Doug, 81, and a resident of Campti, passed away March 15, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 5, 1940, to Sebastian Rachal Jr. and Essie Hillman Rachal in Bayou Julian, La.
Doug was a co-owner of Natchitoches Lumberyard and a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church for many years. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Renee Rachal of Campti; son, Douglas Rachal Jr. and wife Patti of Campti; two grandsons, Trey Rachal and wife Andrea and Zachary Rachal and wife Amanda, all of Campti; two great-granddaughters, Alayna and Aubree Rachal; a step great-grandson, Brentley Vise; sisters, Cynthia Jennings and husband Billy and Elizabeth Ragan; and brother, Glen Rachal and wife Elaine.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Reuben Rachal, Junior Rachal, Samuel Ragan, Anthony Masters, Hunter Masters and Tyler Woods.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Stewart, Leonard Ernst and Ronald Laborde.
