Man wearing seat belt walks away from crash on Hwy 480

A Campti man wearing his seat belt avoided serious injury in a single-vehicle crash on La. Hwy 480 Wednesday, March 23. Patrol deputies responded to the crash at approximately 6:23 p.m. Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS also responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports a crash involving possible injuries on La. Hwy 480 west of the Hart Road.
Deputies found the single occupant of the vehicle suffering from only minor injuries.
Robert “Robbie” C. Blanchard Jr., 18, of Dalton Ranch Road, Campti was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling eastbound when, for reasons still under investigation, he left the road on the right side, travelled down an embankment and struck a tree.
Blanchard was treated and released at scene by EMS.
Deputies say the air bags deployed in the vehicle.
Deputies remind motorists to always take a few seconds to put your seat belts on before traveling to your destinations. Seat belts and child passenger restraint systems can significantly reduce the chances of serious injury or death in traffic crashes.
