The chill in the January air did not deter the excitement at the Natchitoches Parish 4-H Spring Livestock Show.  The group of dedicated youth proudly exhibited their livestock projects at the Natchitoches Fairgrounds in preparation for the 2022 district and state shows.

Organized by Extension Agents Randall Mallette, Pam Pearce and Amanda Clark, the event featured nine youth showcasing four species of animals: hogs, lambs, goats and beef.  Serving as judge for the day was Dr. Chuck Edwards, a veterinarian from Farmerville who works for the USDA.  Members of the Junior Leadership Club and Lakeview High School FFA were also on hand to help with entries, serve as ring stewards and distribute awards.
The Natchitoches 4-H livestock participants would like to extend a sincere thank you to the following for their generous donations which made the show possible:  Natchitoches Farm Bureau, Natchitoches 4-H Foundation, Natchitoches Parish Fair Board and Tractor Supply.
