Flying Heart Brew Pub to offer expanded beer selection, award winning food and live entertainment
Cane River Brewing Company will be undergoing a makeover soon as it changes ownership. Business partners Ben Hart, Jeff Judge and Ben Pattillo are buying Cane River Brewing to add a third location of their Flying Heart Brew Pub founded in Bossier City in 2015 and expanded to West Monroe last year.
Hart revealed their plan is to transform the Natchitoches location from a distribution brewery to a brew pub as they did with their original location. Hart explained the new occupational license allows them to offer food and expand their selection of beverages. “We’ll be able to sell all the beer that we produce onsite, plus we’ll be able to sell guest taps. We’ll have wines and spirits as well,” he said. “My personal favorite is called Black Heart,” he said. “Our most popular is called our Firehouse Blonde, which is a German Kolsch, and we have another fun one called Day Wrecker.”
The site’s renovation will include building a kitchen with work scheduled to start next week. Hart described the menu. “We have been voted multiple years having best pizza, best wings in the city by the SB Magazine,” he began. “Our pizzas are all handmade, brick fired.” The menu also changes. “We release a seasonal pizza that’s just for the month and we do a seasonal beer.”
Hart described how their business spearheaded development in Bossier City. “The city, after we got up and running, did a revitalization of that area and created the East Bank District,” he said. “It’s created a whole entertainment district that’s open container where we can take beer back and forth.” They hope to transform the new locale with a beer garden. “It’ll have a stage, most likely weekly live music and we occasionally do larger ticketed events.”
