Fairview fire determined arson, suspects in custody

On April 7, Natchitoches Parish Fire District #9 requested the State Fire Marshal’s (SFM) assistance in investigating a mobile home fire located in the 200 block of Gray Road in the Fairview Alpha Community.
After an assessment of the scene, including collecting witness statements, deputies determined the fire was intentionally set.

Through investigative efforts in collaboration with the Natchitoches and Red River Parish Sheriff’s Offices, Prentis Dillan Adams, 22, was identified as a suspect. Adams is a relative of the affected homeowner.
On Friday, April 8, Adams was placed under arrest on one count each of Simple Arson, Criminal Trespass and Obstruction of Justice. He faces additional charges from another agency.
An additional suspect, Jason Hinson, 35, was taken into custody Tuesday, April 12 in Red River Parish and booked at 10:14 a.m. on one count each of Simple Arson and Criminal Trespass. Hinson also faces additional charges from other agencies. Red River Parish deputies executed the warrant on Dayton Carlisle Road.
We’d like to thank Natchitoches and Red River deputies for their partnership in quickly closing this case.
The dog that was in a crate on the porch and was burned by the fire ultimately did not survive. She passed away the following morning.
