Saint Mary’s football hosted their annual awards ceremony recently and the accolades keep coming for the squad. After a tough first round loss to Metairie Park Country Day, the Tigers still had a great season with many All-District and State recognitions.
Of note at the banquet where the recipients of the three big annual awards. Logan Watson was the recipient of the Al Prudhomme award. Russ Hillhouse received the Grant Ingram memorial scholarship. The William McKnight award went to senior Cole Fisher.
The 8-2 regular season garnered the Tigers a number 7 seeding in the playoffs, but the team did not have the ending they wanted. Gavin LaGrange was selected to the 2021 FLCA 1-A All-State 1st team offensive line. Kicker Payne Williams was named to the second team list. Quarterback Adam Parker continues to impress in the offseason and all eyes will be on him leading the team in the fall.
The annual football golf tournament and crawfish boil has been scheduled. The golf tournament will be May 27 and the crawfish boil will be May 26. Contact the school for more information and to register your team for the golf event or to sponsor a hole.
