Natchitoches resident Monique Monette has recently published her second book, “Poetic Soul” a collection of poetry that expresses the beauty of nature, the love of God and the hopefulness of a heart.
She refers to “Poetic Soul” as soulful thoughts poetically transformed into words. In her words, “Poetic Soul” is “poetry purely spilled onto these pages by the inkwell of my heart.” As she writes, she tries to follow her writing motto: “Reflect on what is lovely, truthful, and joyful,” which she derived from one of her favorite Bible verses, Philippians 4:8.
Monette’s second book, as well as her first, “Openhearted” are available for purchase on Amazon.com.
Monette is continuing to write, working on more books she hopes to publish.
She is the daughter of Jamie and Priscilla Monette. Her paternal grandparents are Judy Monette and the late Donald “Panky” Monette, originally of Cloutierville. Her maternal grandparents are David Christophe Sr. and Cloteel Christophe of Melrose.
