Janice F. Andrus, 85, passed away May 20, 2022. She was born March 4, 1937, in Shreveport to Price and Inez Melder.
She was retired from Frist Baptist Church in Natchitoches where she worked for many years as the financial secretary.
She was married to Bobbie Andrus for nine years after her marriage to the late Jack Farmer for 54 years.
She had one brother, the late James Melder of Shreveport.
She is survived by four children, Johnny Farmer and wife Shara of College Station, Texas, Jimmy Farmer of Natchitoches, Juanice Carnahan and husband Bush of Minden and Julie Bates of Normal, Ill.; two stepchildren, Tammy Eaves and husband Greg and Tony Andrus, all of Glenmora; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Farmer, Matthew Farmer, Rachel Wheeler (Their mother, Ruth Farmer), Jonathon “Trey” Rink, Kennedy DeMoss, Meagan Farmer, Joanna Clark, Robert Corley, Lauren Fadely, Jodie Bates and Martel Bates; five step-grandchildren, Randall Eaves, Kevin Eaves, Jena Andrus, Jerad Andrus and Audrey Guillory; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Butler and husband Jerome of Richardson, Texas; sister-in-law, Edwina Melder of Shreveport; two stepsisters, Billie Gassiott and Barbara Stagg, both of Glenmora; and nephews, Greg Melder and Christopher Butler and his wife Jennifer.
A service to honor her life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Farmer, Matthew Farmer, Brad Wheeler, Jonathon “Trey” Rink, Martel Bates and Dylan Fadely. Honorary pallbearer will be Tristan Graves.
Her favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you do not know.”
