(Natchitoches)-Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance while they search for a Natchitoches man wanted on theft charges according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives are currently looking for Shumichael Moore, B/M, 36, Hgt/508, Wgt/220, possibly bald with brown eyes with a last known address in the 200 block of Cherry Loop near Natchitoches, La.
Moore is believed to operating a 2000 Ford Expedition, beige in color, bearing La. License# 651ESU.
Moore is wanted by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office for 3-Counts of Theft ranging to approximately $2000.00.
Detectives say Moore is conducting fraudulent practices mostly involving the elderly by arranging meetings with them at their homes in the Natchitoches area. He allegedly makes arrangements with them to conduct home repairs, collects their money and never returns.
Moore also reportedly makes promises that he can obtain lumber at discounted prices.
Detectives made contact with Moore this week by phone. He promised to report to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Division on Thursday but failed to show up for an interview.
Detectives have also spoken with family members.
Detectives believe there may be other victims that have not reported Moore’s fraudulent practices.
