The Parish Government Office of Community Services has exhausted its Low Income Home Energy Assistance Funds as of Aug. 12 according to Executive Director Sharon Harris. She said residents are experiencing cut-off for non-payment all over the parish
Some 862 unduplicated households were assisted for a total payment amount of $487,845.
Harris listed the vendors and the amount of money they received:

Utility Department: $227,155
•CLECO: $33,562
•Entergy: $5,600
•Ferrellgas: $2.900
•Jim’s South Butane & Propane: $1,800
•O’Neal Gas: $450
•Southern LP Gas: $8,450
•SWEPCO, $154,060
The parish will not receive energy assistance funds until November when heating money for $2023 is distributed.
