Mr. and Mrs. John Kent and Tricia Dartez of Lafayette are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Dr. Lauren Marie Dartez of Lafayette, to Dr. Rhett Dale Sonnier of Erath .
Rhett is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Shannon and Karen Sonnier of Erath. The nuptial wedding Mass will take place Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lafayette.
Grandparents of the future bride are Mrs. Mamie and the late Leo Stanley Faulk of Kaplan, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Earl “Snow” Dartez of Kaplan. Lauren is a 2014 graduate of St. Thomas More High School and a 2018 graduate of Louisiana Tech University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, and a 2022 graduate of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctorate of Science in Veterinary Medicine. She is currently employed as a Veterinarian with Lafayette Veterinary Care Center.
Grandparents of the prospective groom are Mr. and Mrs. Roger and Sandra Sonnier of Erath and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy and Carol Gunter of Natchitoches. Rhett is a 2016 graduate of Erath High School and attended University of Louisiana Lafayette, and a 2022 graduate of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctorate of Science in Veterinary Medicine. He is employed as a Veterinarian with Acadiana Equine Hospital.
The couple plans to reside in Carencro.
