The Natchitoches Office of Community Services is offering parish residents free bottled water and personal protective equipment at sites across the parish.
Parish employees distributed the supplies at Creston Baptist Church and the Readhimer Community Center Aug. 31 and Greenville Baptist Church in Clarence and Kingdom Life Center in Campti Sept. 1.
Organized by Office of Community Services Director Sharon Harris, the events were conducted in a drive-through format. Parish employees loaded two cases of bottled water and one bag of assorted PPE per household into vehicles, though residents who share transportation may acquire supplies for multiple households in the same vehicle. Residents are asked to bring proof of identity to distribution events.
The Natchitoches Parish Government will organize additional drive-through distributions of the lifesaving products as supplies allow. Parish residents may check the Parish of Natchitoches Facebook page for more information about future events.
