NSU Bass Tournament, TappedTober set for Oct. 15

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s inaugural Bass Fishing Tournament will take place in tandem with another popular Natchitoches event, the annual TappedTober Craft Beer and Wine Festival, both taking place Saturday, Oct. 15 and supported by the Cane River Waterway Commission.

Although these are two separate events, both appeal to a wide variety of spectators who can attend one or both at some point during the day, according to NSU administrators, who expect to draw anglers and their families from throughout the region to the tournament and the weigh-in at Collins Pavilion where there will be games, activities and a fishing tournaments for kids. Tournament participants and/or their families may elect to go downtown to TappedTober in the evening to check out the food, music and libations.

The Bass Fishing Tournament sites will include Cane River, Sibley Lake, Red River and Black Lake.  Weigh-ins on the NSU campus will include giveaways, door prizes, raffle, DJ, bounce house and tackle and apparel vendors. Proceeds will benefit the NSU Fishing Team.
