One arrested, warrant issued for second suspect in Saida Street homicide




The Natchitoches Police Department is asking the public for assistance in locating Kenny Wayne Smith Jr., b/m, 27, of Natchitoches.
An arrest warrant has been issued for him on the charges of Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder.
Cedric Daniels, b/m, 37, of Natchitoches was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 28.
NPD investigators located Daniels in the 5100 block of University Parkway. The Natchitoches S.W.A.T. team was notified and Daniels was arrested without incident.
He was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder.
The arrest of Daniels and warrant for Smith Jr. are in connection with the Sept. 25 shooting death on Saida Street of Jaqurian Casson, b/m, 21, of Natchitoches.
Anyone who has seen Smith Jr. should contact the Natchitoches Police Department at (318) 352-8101 or Detective Rudy Glass at (318) 357-3878. Do not attempt to apprehend or detain this individual by yourself. Smith Jr. is considered to be armed and dangerous. All information given shall remain confidential.
