Northwestern State University to host Education Day Nov. 10 and first responders game Nov. 12

Northwestern State University will host hundreds of elementary students at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 10 to explore educational opportunities available through NSU and partnering organizations.

The Education Day expo will include booths representing NSU╒s academic departments, Louisiana School for Math Science and the Arts, the ADVANCE Program for Young Scholars and the Natchitoches Parish Library. Activities will include science demonstrations, a literacy promotion program and exploration of careers in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM). The City of Natchitoches is also sponsoring free admission to the first 500 kindergarten through eighth grade students to attend the NSU Demon basketball game versus Ouachita Baptist after the expo at Noon. Additional students beyond 500 may attend the game for reduced admission of $5 per student eight grade and younger. Northwestern State University is welcoming first responders to attend the Demon men╒s basketball game against Illinois State, Nov. 12 to be recognized for their selfless and valuable service to the community.
