On Wednesday, Nov. 16, the Louisiana Department of Education released individual school and system performance data for the 2021-22 school year. The Natchitoches Parish School district received a district performance score of 75.9 and categorizes the district as a “B” for the 2021-2022 school year. NPSB’s district performance score demonstrates tremendous growth compared to the last official LDOE scores from 2019.

Natchitoches Parish was highlighted as a Top 10 district in growth of district performance score and was one of only 20 school districts rated as an “A” for student progress.

Individual school growth can also be seen across the district. Two schools that stood out were East Natchitoches Elementary School and Fairview Alpha Elementary School. East Natchitoches moved out of failing status and earned an “A” in student progress. Fairview Alpha grew 10.1 points on their student progress score from 2021’s stimulated score and are now a “C” school.

Every school in Natchitoches Parish experienced a form of growth in school performance and student progress. To see the full list of individual school scores, visit https://www.louisianabelieves.com/resources/library/performance-scores.

“The amount of work that goes into moving a district even a tenth of one point is monumental, so to think of all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into moving our entire district 3.7 points is humbling,” says NPSB Superintendent Dr. Grant Eloi. “I cannot thank our teachers enough for what they are doing for the children of Natchitoches Parish.”
