Christmas on Wheels ready to roll Nov. 19

In its third year, “Christmas on Wheels” car show and parade will be Saturday, Nov.19.
Mariah Kador, the recently crowned Miss Black and Gold of Northwestern State’s Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., will lead the parade as grand marshal. A junior microbiology major from Oscar, Louisiana, she wil be featured in the parade as it winds through the streets of West Natchitoches. The family-oriented parade will showcase vehicles from the late 1940s to today.

Meandering from Natchitoches-Frankie Ray Jackson Junior High to the Ben Johnson Auditorium parking lot, the specific streets will include (in the listed order of travel) Welch, Gold, Dixie, Texas and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, where the parade will terminate for the static car show. The parade line-up time is at 10:30 a.m. and the parade will roll at noon. An alcohol breath test will be administered to all participants driving in the guided parade processional. “Swirling” or “burning” of tire rubber, will not be permitted during the procession.

Food, clothing, jewelry, arts and crafts vendors along with Hip Hop artist, “Ace Persona,” will help to create the setting for the annual showcase experience. Patrons are asked to bring a toy for the partnering toy drive that supports the Natchitoches area Jaycees Make A Smile Happen M*A*S*H annual event.
