Mayor Ronnie Williams Jr. confirmed Friday morning the land cleared behind the gas station at the intersection of Hwy 6 (Grand Ecore) and the Bypass will be the location of a new subdivision.
It is the same development that residents on St. Maurice opposed about six months ago.
The property will start out as rentals with the possibility of home ownership after 15 years. Williams said the home designs are varied.
