Bro. Wayne Salley brought the message on Psalm 27:14 Sunday. This talks about how we should have patience and wait for the Lord. The Lord will show us the way. He read Hebrews 11:6. This is about faith. We must have faith and He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Read Hebrews 11:13. He said waiting and faith go hand and hand. Then he read Isaiah 7:14. Bro. Wayne referred to the song, “Away in the Manger” stressing God makes a way in the manger.

Bro. Roger and Connie Matkin had a bittersweet time as they watched their grandson, senior Blake Matkin, play his last home game at the John. W. Curtis Tiger Stadium Friday night. This was the semifinals for Division III against St. James and the Many Tigers took the win. Connie said Blake had a really good game as a defensive linebacker with three sacks, one assist and four tackles with each tackle being for loss.
She said that he really pushed them back. She is going to miss watching him run down that hill into Tiger Stadium as the fireworks go off at each home game. Now, Blake and the Many Tigers are pumped about heading to the Superdome Saturday where they will play against Union Parish Farmers for the State Championship, Division III Title. Congratulations Blake on a great year and a really great game Friday night. Here’s wishing him and the Many Tigers a super win Saturday.
