PARC pond gets rainbow trout

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and  Fisheries is scheduled to stock the pond at PARC Natchitoches with adult-sized   rainbow trout on Tuesday, Jan.  24.  The pond stocking, which is part of the LDWF Get Out  & Fish community program, gives easy access to easy fishing the entire family can enjoy.

LDAF recommends fishing for rainbow trout with a light line and small hook. Anglers might also try a small spinner lure or rooster tail. Many people have luck with power bait as well. You can catch rainbow trout with both live and dead bait.

Youth 17 and under fish for free; a recreational fishing license is required for anglers 18 and older. The daily limit for rainbow trout is five per person. Also remember to take an ice chest, because rainbow trout make for great eating.
