Mrs. Linda Marie Evans Crafton, died on March 15, 2023, at the age of 75, of complications resulting from her courageous five-year battle with breast cancer. Services for Linda will be on Tuesday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La. Officiating the service will be Rev. Derek Ducote. Interment will follow at Fern Park Cemetery, Natchitoches. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 20, at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, 848 Keyser Ave from 5 to 7 p.m. A celebration of her life in the Covington, La., community is being planned for the near future.
Linda was predeceased by her father, Earl Worth Evans, mother, Ada Gallien Evans, infant brother Joseph, all of Natchitoches, and eldest sister, Earleen Ruth Evans, of Shreveport La.,. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 48 years, Dr. Clifford G. Crafton, of Covington, and her beloved son, Clay Adrian Crafton and wife Jenni, grandsons, Miles Bustamonte Crafton and Parker Bustamonte Crafton, all of Tampa, Fl.
Linda is also survived by her seven siblings: Diane Mary Evans Wolfe and husband Bert of Temple, Tx, Michael Worth Evans and wife Cindy, Donald Joseph Evans and wife Cay, Lillian Margaret Evans Richie and husband Vernon, Alan Earl Evans, Louis Neil Evans and wife Diane, all of Shreveport, and Julia Ann Evans Shows and husband Randy, of Broussard, La.
Linda was a 1966 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. She worked as an occupational therapist at Southeast Louisiana State Hospital in Mandeville, Louisiana, where she met her husband, Cliff. Linda was devoted to her family and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She excelled in all things art-related, and loved to work in her yard and flowerbeds. One of her sisters recalled that, “All she ever wanted was a lawn mower that started.”
