It is with great sadness that the family of Willie Ruth Wagley, 89, announce her passing on Nov. 15, 2022 at her home in Tucson, surrounded by her family.
Willie was born May 29, 1933 in Pleasant Hill, LA to Will and Alabama Ruth Anderson.
She went to school and grew up in the area along with her seven brothers. She married the love of her life, Robert “Buster” Wagley on February 28, 1950 and together they had four children, Beverly, Steve, Kay and Salley.
In 1962, they moved to Morenci, AZ where Buster worked for Phelps Dodge Mining Company.
Willie went to work at Sears in Clifton where she worked for over 20 years, rising to the position of manager.
In 1989, they retired and moved back home to Louisiana. Willie lost Buster in 2005 and moved back to Arizona in 2011 to live with family.
Willie is preceded in death by her husband Buster, her parents, seven brothers, beautiful daughter, Salley, and son-in-law Steve Balich.
She is survived by daughter Beverly Balich, son Steve (Susie) Wagley, daughter Kay (Larry) Gale, eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 23, 2022 in Safford, AZ.
Funeral services in Louisiana will be June 3, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Beulah Methodist Church 2279 Highway 487, Marthaville, LA, followed by internment in the Beulah Methodist Church Cemetery.
