Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance while they search for two Natchitoches men wanted in connection with the home invasion and kidnapping of a woman near Natchitoches on Sunday morning Detectives are searching for Jimmie Evans, 43, black male. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds and has black hair, possibly short, brown eyes and lives in the 100 block of Mary Drive in the Payne Subdivision.

A Sabine Parish woman was arrested on felony drug charges during a traffic stop near Natchitoches on Thursday evening. On April 10 at 10:45 p.m. Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau were patrolling on University Parkway when they stopped a 2016 Kia passenger car for a traffic violation.

While the Northwestern State football team was a bit off schedule ahead of Saturday’s first full scrimmage of spring practice, the Demon defense was where it was expected to be. In a scrimmage that lasted roughly 40 plays, the NSU defense produced 11 tackles for loss and forced a pair of turnovers during the workout Saturday morning at Turpin Stadium.
