District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington announced today the dispositions of recent cases in Division ‘B’ of 10th Judicial District Court. Devonte Howard, 29, of Abilene, Texas, was previously convicted in January 2023 by pleading guilty to aggravated flight from an officer and was placed on felony probation.

The Northwestern State track and field teams set four conference, facility or national records, highlighting its showing at the Louisiana Classics on Saturday on the campus of UL Lafayette. The women’s 4x100 relay team broke a school record and tied the Southland Conference record, while Diamante Gumbs and the women’s 4x400 relay team each broke the stadium mark, while Gumbs also broke the national record in the hammer throw of his home country, the British Virgin Islands.
