JT knows that former editor Carolyn Roy and her daughter Julie Longlois are LSU Lady Tigers and Coach Kim Mulkey fans, or should we say fanatics. They follow the team closely and saw them play the first game of the Final Four in Dallas last year. They were at the second round of the regionals Sunday in Baton Rouge when the Tigers rejuvenated at halftime and returned to beat Middle Tennessee State (MTSU).

The Northwestern State baseball team did not let one heartbreak become two Sunday afternoon. After watching a ninth-inning lead disappear in the middle game of their Southland Conference opening series against Southeastern, the Demons rode a relentless offensive attack and saw a pair of freshman pitchers grow up in an 118 victory against the Lions at Brown-Stroud Field.

Northwestern State University will host the 42th annual Chris Roper Memorial Golf Tournament Saturday April 27 at Northwestern Hills with a kick-off party Friday, April 26. Proceeds from the tournament are used to fund two scholarships awarded each year to two deserving students who are enrolled in the Health & Human Performance Department.

The basis of the suit involves states and individuals whose Covid posts were censored who then sued federal government officials for violating their free speech rights. Lower courts had ruled in favor of these plaintiffs, finding that certain government officials had pressured social media platforms to censor and suppress their posts.
