‘Best of the Best’ high school athletes honored Saturday

The “Best-of-the-Best” awards ceremony that honors Natchitoches Parish senior high school athletes, Natchitoches Leadership Through Athletics Committee (NLTAC), has a new component to this year’s awards celebration. The Committee has partnered with Raising Cane’s Restaurant and Super 1 Foods (University Parkway location) to allow residents to VOTE for their favorite senior athlete from Lakeview, Natchitoches Central and St. Mary’s high schools May 16 during regular business hours at both establishments. One can vote during each visit.

Get the politics out of reapportionment

If you want to witness political favoritism and inside political wheeling and dealing at its worst, just witness the mess that has been created by the legislature as well as federal judges in Louisiana. Dysfunctional politics is about the best way to describe what is happening in the legally required process of reapportioning congressional districts in the Bayou state.
