Wells shuts out Grant Cougars 17-0

The Natchitoches Chiefs started the NCHS Tournament off took a huge win over Grant High School Cougars Thursday night. The 4A Cougars (4-6) struggled all night against an aggressive Chief offense and solid defense.

The Chiefs started off strong on offense, with a grounds out to shortstop Hayden Helms, a strikeout from pitcher Garrett Wells and another grounds out to Josh Fortenberry at first base. The Chiefs, however, were slow on offense, striking out with Stephen Roberts pitching for Grant, then hitting a fly out and ground out immediately atbat. When Grant returned atbat, Wells struck out two batters and one lined out to AJ Walter in center field.
