Winning Christmas Festival poster artist Kathryn Latham of Hornbeck, like many artists, has a busy schedule and painting in acrylics is one way to relax.
The mother of four children and grandmother of three with another one on the way, says that her interest in art began in high school when she started sketching varied subjects. She followed that interest with a drafting course and private art lessons, and then delved into commercial art.
It was later in life that she began to paint seriously with her interest toward nature and birds or “anything whimsical.” Some of her artwork is for sale at Nichols Store in Many.
