The members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., were at the City Council meeting Monday,Jan. 13 that was declared Delta Day by Mayor Ronnie Williams Jr. and the Council. Mayor Ronnie Williams Jr. recognized MattAnderson who has been an employee of theCity Utility Depart-ment for 28 years anddirector for the lastfour. Williams saidAnderson was his firstappointment and guid-ed the City through aterrific winter stormthat saw a water short-age the first week hewas appointed andWilliams’ first week inoffice. Commentsabout Anderson werethat he always responded in a very challeng-ing job and was available 24/7. “it’s beenamazing working with you,” Williams toldAnderson.
Williams also recognized Randy LaCaze, a26-year employee, all of which were as Eco-nomic and CommunityDevelopment director.He recently retired butbegan his career withthe City in 1998 andworked with three may-ors. His latest big pro-ject was collaborationto develop the Texasand Pacific Depot.
