Two Red River Parish men are in custody, and illegal narcotics and weapons were sized following a traffic violation in Natchitoches Parish.
On Wednesday Oct. 9 around 10:20 p.m. Tremetrick Shamar Newton, 25, of Coushatta was driving a 2020 Nissan Altima on La. Hwy 6 East near Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches when he was stopped for a traffic violation. The passenger was LaDarion Davontae Jones. , 28, of Coushatta. Both had pending felony charges in Red River Parish.
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Office Deputies say upon coming in contact with the occupants and speaking with the driver seated in the vehicle, they smelled a strong marijuana odor.
