The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning on Stella Street. On Sept. 25, around 1:57 a.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of Stella Street in reference to a gunshot victim.
Officers located the victim and immediately began to render aid while waiting on other first responders to arrive. The victim was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and later to a hospital in Caddo Parish for further treatment.
Investigators canvassed the area and spoke with several witnesses. They also collect several pieces of evidence that will be sent to the crime lab for further analysis.
