Progress in project to revitalize J. W. Thomas Apartments
The City Council took action at its meeting Monday that the developer says “…will change the trajectory of West Natchitoches.”
Claire Primus spoke to the council about the rehabilitation of the J.W. Thomas Apartments. The attorney firm of Watkins and Eager PLLC is requesting that the Council revoke the dedication of portions of Trudeau and Touline as a legality. Those portions of the streets are not used and have not been used in years. The apartments were built after the streets were and those portions are not actually streets anymore.
Primas said the construction loan for the rehabilitation is $17.5 million dollars but fees have run the cost up to about $37 million.
