The Parish Council adopted its 2025 budget at its meeting Monday with a vote of the four members there. Chairman Bill Allen was absent. Council members Bobby Braxton, and Marty Cheatwood voted to adopt the budget as did Council members Mark Kerry and Wayne Halm.
The controversy arose at the October meeting when Allen, Braxton and Cheatwood voted not to accept the budget. Allen said he was reluctant to adopt the budget because funding for buying software was not included in the budget.
But Monday the budget was adopted with the total revenue of $26,762, 320. Expenses are projected to be $39,179,459. The General Fund is projected to end 2025 with a cash balance of $6,060.
