Sheriff’s deputies, SWAT team serve high risk warrant in Campti without incident

At 7:15 a.m. Oct. 6, a heavy law enforcement presence consisting of Natchitoches SWAT with support from Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Deputies was in the 200 block of Barnum St. in Campti The team served a high risk search warrant and criminal arrest warrants on a Campti man. Taken into custody without incident was 36-yearold Dakota Harvey.

Harvey was charged with possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cyclobenzaprine, possession of adderall, possession of a legend drug, possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a weapon with drugs, possession of stolen property, violation of a protective order, three counts of failure to appear through NPSO and one count of domestic violence by strangulation warrant.

Sheriff Stuart Wright said the the Natchitoches SWAT team, comprised of members from both the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Office and the Natchitoches Police Department, will focus on tactical proficiency and collaboration, and are preparing to serve more high-risk warrants in the future.
