Back Porch Band entertains seniors at Young at Heart

The monthly Young at Heart luncheon for seniors was held on Nov. 5 at the First United Methodist Church.The Back Porch Band entertained everyone with their signature mix of Gospel, Popular, and Country music, ending with their renditions of “Danny Boy,” “Sixteen Tons,”,and “Keep on the Sunny Side.

Grand jury indicts 2 men

Natchitoches Parish District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington announced that a Natchitoches Parish grand jury has returned indictments for second-degree murder against Jermaurion Simmons, 19, of Natchitoches, and Shadarious White, 20, of Natchitoches.

Here are the NPSO arrests from Oct. 30 - Nov. 9

1. Oscar Moody, 46 (bm), arrested for possession of schedule II, switched license plate, no insurance, operating a vehicle under suspension for certain prior offenses, expired license plate, possession of drug paraphernalia, probation & parole violation, obstruction of justice – evidence tampering2.
