Santa house ready for the Season!

Miss Merry Christmas and the Christmas Belles joined Carmella Maggio McCart in helping clean and decorate the Santa Claus House for the new Christmas season.Jeanette Maggio Gunter, Carmella’s aunt, had the original Santa House built in 1959-60 in memory of her son Barry Gunter.

College of Business and Technology at Northwestern names new dean

Dr. W. Scott Wysong IV has been appointed dean of the College of Business and Technology at Northwestern State University effective Jan. 5, 2026, pending approval of the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System, according to Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Greg Handel.

Heavy damage but no injuries at fire

The City of Natchitoches Fire Department was dispatched to 816 Whitfield for a reported structure fire during the early morning hours on Saturday, Nov. 7. Fire Engines and crews from Central Fire Station and Station 2 were dispatched to the scene.
