Program by City supports local business

The City of Natchitoches announces the launch of the Ask Natchitoches First movement, beginning Friday, Oct. 3. This initiative is designed to encourage residents to support local businesses and strengthen the city’s economy by shopping local first.

Temporary Water outage on east end of Keyser Avenue

The City of Natchitoches would like to notify the public of a temporary water outage due to an emergency repair of a water line.  The City of Natchitoches Utilities Department will conduct repairs on a broken 10-inch water main beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

City announces street work

City of Natchitoches announces upcoming construction work on Woodyard Drive and East Fifth Street. On or around Monday, Sept. 29, pavement removal and base reconstruction work will begin on a 1,200-linear foot section of Woodyard Drive beginning approximately 0.

Village of Natchez facing same budget quandary as it did last year

Once again the Village of Natchez did not pass its proposed July 2025-June 2026 budget during its Sept. 4 meeting.Instead the Aldermen tabled the matter to give them additional time to study it. The budget was introduced in July. A public hearing was held in August.
