LPB will broadcast Governor’s opening address

Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LIB) will provide live coverage of Gov.Jeff Landry’s opening address to the Louisiana Legislature for the 2026 Regular Session on Monday, March 9 at 1 p.m. It will air statewide on LIBHAD, WILE-TV & WYES-TV, the PBS station serving New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

City issues permits

The City of Natchitoches Planning and Zoning Department issued 23 building permits with a valuation of $504,867 during February according to the report issued by Director Shortfall Roque.

Natchitoches forester inducted into La. Ag Hall of Distinction

A forester, a former LSU AgCenter administrator with an entomological background and an advocate for Louisiana’s sugarcane industry were inducted into the Louisiana Agriculture Hall of Distinction. The induction took place at the L’Auberge Hotel in Baton Rouge Feb. 26.
