New fire station groundbreaking is March 3

City officials announced Monday a ground breaking ceremony for Fire Station No. 3 at 3600 University Parkway is being held Tuesday, March 3, at 10 a.m. The project, which has been in the works for several years, was given the nod last fall after some $1.8 million in state funding was secured.

NCHS 1975 planning reunion

The Natchitoches Central High School Bicentennial Class of 1976 will celebrate its 50- year anniversary beginning on Friday evening, May 22, and will progress to a semi formal affair on Saturday evening, May 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Natchitoches Event Center.

Literacy event Reading on the River returning

The Service League of Natchitoches will host Reading on the River, an annual community literacy event promoting the importance and enjoyment of reading outside of the classroom, on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The event will take place on the Natchitoches Riverbank from 10am-2pm.
