Officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Amulet St. for a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The crash took place on Saturday, March 21, around 4:15 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was heading east on Amulet St. when a juvenile entered the roadway and was struck by the vehicle near the railroad tracks. The juvenile was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. The driver of the vehicle was not issued a citation. The Natchitoches Police Department reminds all pedestrians to be aware of their surroundings when walking or running near a roadway. Pedestrians should always look both ways before crossing or entering any street and wear reflective clothing, if possible.
