Royce Wayne Garsee Aug. 17, 1945March 29, 2026

Royce Wayne Garsee, age 80, of Mustang, Okla., passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2026, due to health complications.

Royce was born on Aug. 17, 1945, in Leesville, LA to Owen Garsee and Agnes Rachael Garsee.

He graduated from Natchitoches High School in 1964 and proudly joined the United States Air Force the same year. Royce dedicated 23 years of honorable service to his country, including service during the Vietnam War. His military career took him around the world, with memorable assignments in Spain, Thailand, and many other locations.

On Dec. 15, 1977, Royce married the love of his life, Edna Garsee. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family, sharing 41 wonderful years of marriage. Edna, unfortunately, passed in 2018.

Royce was a proud veteran, devoted family man, and gifted storyteller. He loved spending time with his family, spoiling his two dogs, sharing stories from his years in the Air Force, especially Thailand, and relaxing in his La-ZBoy recliner watching football, boxing, Law & Order: SVU, and old westerns. He will be remembered for his strength, humor, and the countless stories that kept family and friends smiling.

He was preceded in death by his father, Owen Garsee; his mother, Agnes Garsee; his brother, Charles Garsee; and his beloved wife, Edna Garsee.

Royce is survived by his brother, Harry Garsee and wife Donna; brother-in-law Charles Rick and wife Betty; his daughter, Tonya Dalton and husband Henry; his son, Michel Rick and wife Nieves; and his cherished grandchildren, Tim Rick, Heather Martin, Daniel Rick, Lanielle Salinas, Trisha Carlos, Michael Soto, Priscilla Rick, and Letty Rick, along with 21 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren & many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

Royce Garsee’s legacy of service, love, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation Wednesday, April 1, from 1-8 p.m. at McNeil’s Funeral Service at 525 W State Hwy 152.

Funeral services were Thursday, April 2 at 10 a.m. in the McNeil’s Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Mustang Cemetery.
