Mary Catherine LaCaze Leach May 21, 1940 Dec. 17, 2023

Mary Catherine LaCaze Leach, also known as Mawmaw or Aunt Mammy, was born on May 21, 1940, to Andres and Florence LaCaze. She entered her heavenly home on Dec. 17, 2023 at the age of 83.

She was a lifelong resident of Natchitoches where she met and married her husband Hester Leach Sr. of 63 years. She worked many years as a florist and always loved the beauty of flowers and the outdoors. She loved her family, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. A few of her favorite things were puzzles, word search books, music and sweets!

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Hester of Natchitoches, daughter, Renee Bridges and husband Winston of Provencal, son Andy Leach of Flora, her grandchildren, A.J. Leach, Brandi Leach, Kelsey Robertson, and Kylee Perkins, six great grandchildren, Landon Thrasher, Ava and Addilynn Leach, Brooklyn and Brylee Leach, Brody Hooper, and Bailey Black; her siblings, Doris Mitchell, Helen Presley and husband Carroll, Sue Desadier, John LaCaze and wife Laura, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Those that were waiting to welcome her home include; her parents, Andres and Florence LaCaze, her brothers, Louis LaCaze, James Linwood LaCaze, Clifton LaCaze, and Charles LaCaze, she will also be reunited with her son, Hester Leach Jr.

Those honored to be pallbearers will be Michael Mitchell, Winston Bridges, Brad Robertson, Landon Thrasher, Andy Leach, and A.J. Leach.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and prayers during this difficult time. A special thank you to Carson Custis, from NRMC ICU, who went above and beyond to care for our Mawmaw through her last days. We could never thank you enough!

A service to honor her life was held on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Burial followed at Fern Park Cemetery. Bro. John Lewing officiated the service.
