Evon Nichols, 96, of Jasper passed away on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at Rayburn Healthcare & Rehabilitation. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, Feb 15, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Bellwood Cemetery in Bellwood, Louisiana.
A native of Bellwood, Louisiana, Evon was born on April 24, 1927 to Enoch & Emma Moss. A resident of Vowels Mills, Louisiana, she moved to Jasper in 2023 to be closer to family. A hard-working woman, she helped work the family farm and had a knack and love for gardening.
Family was very important to Evon and she loved being able to take care of her family and make them feel loved. She loved cooking and just being in her kitchen, where she was the “Queen of the Kitchen.”.
She is survived by her sons James Nichols of Lufkin and Ralph Nichols & wife Sherry of Jasper; son-in-law George Lawrence Prince Sr. of Vowels Mills, grandchildren Jerrod Nichols, Jason Nichols, Lynn Nichols, Niles Nichols, Kristi Hanks, Lawrence Prince Jr., Brandi Nicole Prince; 11 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fenton Nichols, son Jerald Nichols, daughter Karen Nichols Prince, sisters Lucille Meredith, Pearl Self, Ruby Foshell and Jewell Self and brothers Leon Moss, Odus Moss, Ernest Moss, Louis Moss, and Orin Moss.
