It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Johnny Nobles, 70, of Clear Lake, who died peacefully on May 22, 2024.
Johnny was a man deeply loved and respected by all who had the honor of knowing him. His skills as a mechanic and carpenter were second to none, and he leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication.
Johnny took his last breath holding the hand of his soulmate and best friend, wife of 53 years, Debra Nobles. At his bedside was his son and namesake Johnny “Skipper” III, wife Dustie, and daughter Tasha Still.
He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Alice Nobles and father Johnny R. Nobles Sr.
Those left to mourn his loss are his brothers Fred Denham and wife Yvone of Walker, Charlie Denham and wife Eva of Clarence, sister Pat Chavez and husband Adan of Goldonna, sister-in-law Sheila Cohea and husband Glen and Jane Carter of Dry Prong.
He left a host of nieces and nephews to remember him who came to care for him in his last hours, namely Robin and Sammy “Meatball” Ragan of Clarence. His children are Tasha Still and husband of 27 years, Greg of Colorado Springs, and son Jonny “Skipper” Nobles and wife Dustie of Bayou Bourbeaux. Grandchildren include Senior Airman Tristan “Rain” Still and wife Alejandra of Abilene, Texas, Devonta Roberson and wife Georgina Andrea Alfaro of Kansas City, Missouri, Logan Michael Still and Skylar Still of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gavin Nobles and wife Callie of Castor, Kearston Nobles of Fairview and Kayson Kederick of Bayou Bourbeaux.
He was retired after 18 years of dedicated employment at Trus Joist. Johnny served on the Goldonna Fire District Two for 14 years and was a volunteer for 30 years.
Honorary Pallbearers are Pat Smith, Tom Moore, Gordon Stokes, Glenn, Byron and Jason Cohea, Lil’ Charlie Denham, and Chris Johnson.
A memorial service will be Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at Christian Harmony Baptist Church at 2019 Hwy. 1226 in Natchitoches.
