Event marks historic day in Village of Natchez with opening of new town hall
Mayor Patsy Ward-Hoover acknowledged the contributions of many people who contributed to the success of the town hall. Among the notables were members of the Mayor’s Team who contributed money and time to see the project completed.

Parish Council Chairman William “Bill” Allen enjoyed refreshments at the reception following the ceremony. Mayor Patsy Ward-Hoover told the crowd that the Mayor’s Team secured funding for the ceremony preparation and reception food. No tax money was spent.

Crowd favorite, former Sen. Louie Bernard was the master of ceremonies. While a senator, Bernard secured the money for the town hall.
Event marks historic day in Village of Natchez with opening of new town hall
It was a historic day for the town of Natchez Thursday morning as various current and previous state legislators, state employees, area mayors, local elected officials and others met for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the new town hall.
Among the attendees were former state senator Louis Bernard, Rep. Jason Dewitt, Natchitoches Mayor Ronnie Williams Jr., Sheriff Stuart Wright, former Sheriff Victor Jones, Natchitoches Police Chief Nikeo Collins, Assessor Timothy Paige, Parish Council members Wayne Halm, and Chairman Bill Allen, School Board members Lela Harvey and Emile Metoyer, Natchez Alderman Sheila Johnson and McKinnley Hoover, Sr. and LaMatts executive director Cliff Palmer.
Mayor Patsy Ward Hoover touted the support of those who helped to bring the success to fruition. Additionally, Mayor Hoover recognized the Mayor’s Team: JJ Forest , Jr, Dr. Gina Small, Diane Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Kris Hill, W.L. Howard, Pamela Harvey and Emma Byrd, who donated time and dollars to organize the grand opening festivities. The mayor’s team also funded the monument thanking the design team and others.
