The United States Constitution has survived for 250 years

The U.S. Constitution is one of the most influential legal documents in existence. All eyes are on the Declaration of Independence as we approach the 250th birthday of the United States of America.

This document proclaimed to the world that the inhabitants of the 13 colonies were not a tatty group railing against their mother country and King. Rather, these were citizens of 13 independent states united by the extraordinary thought that “all men are created equal.”

Even with the Declaration’s signers’ pledge that they would sacrifice their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to the success of this new country, we would not be approaching this 250th anniversary had it not been for the United States Constitution.
