Library offers a diverse collection of Halloween costumes for all ages

The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) announce the return of its popular Halloween costume checkout program, now in its ninth year. This innovative service combines community spirit with practical savings, offering residents a chance to celebrate Halloween in style without straining their budgets. From adorable to eerie, the costume checkout program features a diverse collection suitable for all ages, ensuring that everyone can find their perfect Halloween look.

The program’s popularity stems from its simplicity and accessibility. Adult patrons can borrow up to two costumes, making it an ideal solution for families looking to maximize their Halloween fun while minimizing expenses. Costumes are displayed in the children’s area on the first floor of the Main Branch in Natchitoches, with checkout available at the children’s circulation desk. The Northeast Branch in Campti also participates, extending the program’s reach throughout the parish.

“Our costume checkout is more than just a service – it’s a celebration of creativity and community,” says Alan Niette, Deputy Director of the NPL. “We’re excited each year to offer this as a budgetfriendly option to families in Natchitoches Parish.”
