JUST TALKIN’

JT’s never heard of it..but a lot of folks are putting their trust in the “waffle.”

It’s called the “Waffle House Index” and FEMA, storm recovery teams and the public look at it alike.

The Waffle House Index relates to the severity of the storm and at what level the famous restaurant is open. They have developed a color –coded pas of the store locations in regions about to be hit by or recovering from a storm. Red is the worst condition and means a particular store is closed. Green means they are open and serving a full meal-indicating minimal damage and Yellow means the location is serving a limited menu with generator serving as the power source and perhaps a low food supply.
